I've moved back to Precision from Jazz and wish I had made that decision prior to investing the effort and money into having this built, my "final" bass just the way I wanted it. Everything is just right about this if you want a very nice tribute to a classic. It is by no means meant to be historically accurate or attempting to fool anyone with the slightest bit of knowledge into thinking it is an original '62. It is truly meant to be a tribute, with my own flavor thrown in.

Specs to the best of my recollection, which is mildly cloudy as it was built over a year ago:
Body - MJT Custom Relic body - Shell pink, vintage nitro finish. Heavy relic with heavy checking and aging (yellowing). MJT Customs
Neck - Allparts - Maple neck with Ebony board. Abalone inlays. Unfinished Ebony Jazz Bass Neck | Allparts.com - neck finish was a custom job done by a luthier friend. I pinged him for the info and he provided the following:
Pickups - Schaller JBX in Creme, humbucking. Wired to be out of phase with both pickups on full blast for a very thin squwaky kind of sound. Just something I needed for some of the things we (my worship team) do. Just roll either the neck or bridge p'up off a tiny fraction and it goes away and the fat bass sound comes back. Also since the p'ups are individually humbucking, no issues with noise with the pickups out of balance.
Strings - GHS Pressure Wounds
Stacked knobs, Reverse wind tuners, Fender Jazz decal, Red tort guard, threaded rod vintage saddles from Allparts. Dunlop straplocks (Set of strap ends included.) All hardware relic'd by me. I'd happily put this up against any modern American fender and feel real comfortable about the comparison.
Action is around .12 on the E at the 12th, and .11 on the G at the 12th.
Weight - 9.5lbs on the bathroom scale.
Sale includes a TKL Zero Gravity Bass Case which can be seen in the photos.

"it was a satin poly with mineral spirits it was a hand rub mix of tung oil mineral spirits and satin poly I think it was 10 parts thinner and 2 parts each of the oil and poly. It makes a old fashioned hand rub mix. I first applied the amber dye then did the process steel wool between every coat about 11 times if I remember."

1 - The AJL Customs logo waterslide on the back of the headstock flaked off and is no longer there as can be seen in some of the later photos.
2 - The custom neckplate has been replaced with a plain one.
3 - I left shots of the original back showing the coverage that was there to contrast with the currently more worn back. Playing out only one 30 minute set a week and one night of practice a week wore most of the finish off of the back buckle area. I like this feature, but don't anyone to be surprised if they buy it and paint starts wearing off. *NOTE* - I am very hard on the finish in this area as noted by the picture below of a modern American body I wore down similarly.
