For sale is a classic Acoustic 140 Bass Head straight from the early 1970s. This head was added to a trade deal a few years ago right here on Talkbass. I could be the second owner, or the twentieth owner, after all, it is almost forty years old!
This bass head is MUCH louder than what it says on the back (which is 200 watts of PURE BARE BONES BASS) I used this with a precision bass strung with a nice set of flats and this thing ROARED! I believe someone posted a manual for this bass head somewhere here on Talkbass. If I can find it I will post it here as well..
This head has HARDLY been used in my smoke free home. It was never taken out, never gigged with, and hardly moved whatsoever! It basically sat on a spare cabinet for the last three years.
The only difference with this head from the day it arrived is that I replaced the plug with a more modern (and safer) plug as you can see in the pictures. The original one was giving me tons of shocks and something needed to be done.
It also has its fair share of markings, rust on the corners, and the facing is peeling off (an easy fix as seen in the pictures)
What you see is what you get. This head is in 100% working condition and sounds great. As previously mentioned, it is over forty years old and does not look brand new but it still sounds great!
