Details

I bought this a few months ago. I was looking for a great J5 and this definitely fit the bill. By far the best playing/sounding Fender, or any other J5, I've ever had. The action is amazing and super stable. I haven't had to adjust the neck since I set it the first time. When I bought it a few months back, the original owner had only had it for 2 months. I recieved it with all the plastic and hang tags still in place. I removed all the plastic. I shielded all the cavities with copper foil and this bass is dead quiet. I've always get great responses when I play this bass.

These pics are from the original owner. The only thing I've done is removed the plastic. There is a little scuffing on the pick guard now from being played, but that's all I'm aware of. I will go over it with a fine tooth comb after this weekend and report back if there are any other bumps, marks, or anything I'm not currently aware of. The original strings are still on this one and they still sound fantastic! I know I'll regret selling this one, but I've recently become a Music Man artist and am only selling to fund a new Music Man purcahse.

Comes with OHSC and all the case candy.
Weighs 9.6 lbs.

$1350+shipping. Lower 48 only please. I can't do international shipping at this time. If you have somewhere in the states to ship to and then they ship it the remaining way, we can work something out.

I'm now open to trade offers. Here's some things that might interest me: (+/- cash where applicable)

ya, sorry bout that. I've never done it and don't know all the ins and outs to make it happen when crossing borders. If you have a contact here in the states, I'm happy to ship to them.

That is a sweet bass at a nice price. I just bought one of these, and I swear the B string is better than on my Sadowsky m5-24. The best Fender V I have ever played. Get it quick!

no worries. let me know.

FYI....I don't mind fielding offers for $$$ on this bass, but let's at least try to keep them in the ball park. I'm not hard up to sell this one and I REALLY don't mind keeping it. Just to get this out there, I'm pretty firm on my price and will definitely not let it go for less than $1000. :scowl::rolleyes:

I like that a lot. How is the preamp... I heard they are kind of noisy?

The preamp is fantastic on this. Best pre on the deluxes in 10 years, IMO. It's not the preamp that's noisy on these, it's the pickups. It had a little single coil type hum going on when I first got it. From the factory, these things aren't shielded all that well. It was worse in some situations that others. It was particularly bad in my rehearsal room. I fully shielded all the cavities (both pickups and the control cavities) with copper tape and made sure they were all grounded. This thing is dead quiet now, at least in all the places I've played it (including my rehearsal room).
