Details

This is my new cab from LDS loaded with a pair of eminence 3015 kappalite drivers and apt80 tweet. The woofers are fullrange, the tweet is crossed over at 3.5khz with an eminence crossover. The cab is mint and weighs roughly 70lbs. The only reason Im selling it is that Im having Don build me a vintage 8x10 clone and won't be needing this one. This cab is directly comparable to the greenboy dually cabs. For this price, you couldn't even buy the materials. See the cab in this thread.

This is what happens when I don't have enough to do at work - look at cool gear I don't need. Hmm....So, I've never used a cab with port holes that you can close (or stuff with something). When you "close" them, how comparable to a sealed cab does it sound? And are each of these 15s in their own cab within a cab? Are the mids and tweeter too? Thanks a lot, DM

Deeman, each driver is in it's own compartment with it's own porting. Plugging the ports rolls off the low end and makes the cab sound and feel tighter/quicker. With this particular cab I found that it is really tight and responsive because of the drivers and the effort put into it's design. The tweet is in the same compartment as the top driver. It's a super loud, efficient cab and is very easy to move around. I've got to tell you upfront though that I'd have to charge extra for shipping to the west coast. The charges really jump up after you cross the mississippi river. But, it would still cost about half of what guys are charging for the greenboy dually cab which uses the same componants, design and don't have a tweeter. Chris

Thanks for the info. Sounds like stuffing the ports gets close but not quite the same as fully sealed. Makes sense, I guess. Understand about the shipping. Let me mull this over. It would be pure GAS so is unlikely, but who knows.

That, my friend, is just badass. I have a single LDS 15. I can't imagine what this beast sounds like. I'm eyeing an Aguilar DB750. Pretty sure nobody would complain about not being able to hear me ever again with that combo. Of course, my left nut would be blown from a 110-pound rig, but hey, that's why we got two.

with two 3015, it should be ~900 watts, I believe.

Thanks Lomo! You aren't too bad yourself.

Yeah, 900 watts. I have no complaints with this cab. It's just that at the moment Im in a sealed cab frenzy since finally finding the 10's that I've been looking for. The guys in the band think that Im being stupid for selling it but agree that a sealed 10 cab seems to be my signature kind of sound.

This really is a super cab.

This cab is sold. I still am going to say that if you are interested in this type of cab, give Don a call. They are worth every damn penny. Tell him Chris Cole sent you. :)
