On the block today is my '83 Roadstar II (RB720) in black. I picked this up last year form another tb'er and it's been a real treat to play. It's in solid shape overall with a few scratches and dings here and there, and some light sanding on the back of the neck. It is all original save for the A string tuner that I had to replace. I couldn't find a velve tune like the originals so I used a smooth tuner which has a little taller post. The bass is currently strung with Chromes that are a few months old. I don't have a case or bag, but I will pack it well.

Asking [DEL]$250[/DEL] $240 plus actual shipping ConUS.

Below is a link to the original sale thread as well as pics from the thread. I'll get some current pics up later this evening or tomorrow.

I love the giant 2+2 headstock on my '81, but Ibanez did a great job with the propotions of this smaller 2+2. It's one of my favorite headstocks, and I think it looks really classy and in proportion on the Roadstar II's. Kinda wish my '82 Blazer had it! And wish I'd gotten mine that inexpensively!

Buyer's gonna dig it.

interested buyers- go check out the Roadster / Blazer club thread. These basses get the TB love.

Couldn't agree more. They are some of my favorite headstock designs also.

I'm not easily offended folks, feel free to make offers.

Is it 34" scale and is the neck pocket compatible with Fender?

Yes, it's 34" scale. I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the neck pockets are compatible. I'll verify when I get home.

According to this thread, the heel is longer on the roadstar and they aren't a match. I'll triple check, but this sounds about right. I remember trying to put the roadstar neck on a jazz body I had lying around and it not working.

man. I'm still coming back to this f/s thread. Subtract the price of the chromes, and this is like a $210 bass from Japan's late '70's - early '80's era of excellence. If I didn't already own three (and a gu!tar from the era) ...
