Yes, a relist from this summer. I'm way down the 5 string path and I'm just not going to be using this guy.

The body is the Japanese Ash/Sen and the bass is 9lbs. 13oz. I put on a new Tort guard, new BadAss, new Hipshot tuners, new control plate, Schaller strap locks and had a full fret level and polish about 3 years ago. Needs nothing but new strings.
The neck is chubby and round backed, not unlike a 70's Jazz, extra skinny string spacing at the nut and has no issues. The inlays are authentic Mother of Toilet Seat and the fingerboard is oddly dark toned under clear gloss. It is a 3 pc. maple neck but only on the headstock, the neck itself is solid 1 pc. I knocked down the gloss off the back of the neck w/steel wool, no dings or dents there.
The pickups are real beefy and strong, I should have someone clone these before I let it go. Very P toned neck pickup, the bridge p/u by itself not as strong but I think that's about par for the course with a Jazz Bass. I have it strung with Ken Smith Slicks which sound great for Motown or JPJ tones. Bumps and bruises typical of a played 35 yr old instrument, nothing heinous. Comes with a nice thick padded Cordura Made in USA gigbag.

$600 plus shipping OBO. Check preferred, PayPal accepted.

These are great basses as I own one and the build is IMHO better that the Fenders of that era. I would love to own another. Someone is gonna be happy when they play this bass. The tone of the bass is punchy yet well rounded.

I A/B'd this with my Skyline DJ and it walked away with 1st prize. If you are looking for old school Jazz feel and tone this will make you smile when you plug it in (especially when it only cost you 1/4 of the price of a Fender)

This is what hooked me when I saw this on eBay years ago-check out this skinny ass nut...

The inlay is what is commonly called Mother of Toilet Seat. Essentially the same stuff you'd see on a drum kit. It's old enough that it is all starting to darken. Low rent mojo.:smug:

Precise Bass! Heheheh

You gotta love it. These were alternately labelled 'Precise' and 'Professional' Bass, P or J style non withstanding. This is for '76 and '77 only as far as I can tell. I've had them all and this is the magic one.

I play the bass and design things.

Get all the 70's vibe in an authentic axe.

Trades considered amps ala T Funk 550 or Mesa M6 and others in that arena. Cabs less likely but try me. Don't need any more basses thank you.

Some pix of wear and tear on the body

The pole pieces were sharp edged so I dabbed clear nail polish over them. They have yellowed some and are starting to come off. I got this tip here on TB, it's reverseable and does not affect sound. These could be filed too.

Man..... I was eying one of these up about a year ago. Soooo tempting. If I didn't already have 5 other J's. Ugh.....

Hey I'll split the shipping with you too.
Trade interest in amps, can add cash. Small, reasonably light and high quality around 500W or more ala Eden, TC Electronics, TecAmp etc.
