Great lookin ash body. The Bart on Bart sounds beefy too. MIK 5501's are a little sweeter than the Indonesian ones IME.

Configuration is Vol, Blend, Bass, Treble and a Switch for active/passive

Very effective and easy to dial in great tones.

I like that preamp......... the 2 band thing seems like a really good idea ---- 9 lbs--- pretty light for a 5501..........great deal here.

You're right about that. I think the 5501 Lakland is the best 5er under $1000. It gives you pickup options that the 5502 doesn't. You can drop in some J bass style pickups like Nordies big singles or fat stacks or keep the soapbar thing going. This one has a great top end almost like it was maple.

You might get one a little cheaper but it may not bring the sound of the Bart pre or the great feel of this MIK neck.

Used it in the studio and it got a lot of positive attention. Full, Fat, and Dead Quiet. That wasn't the case if when I tried using too much high end presence with the original preamp. The Bartolini pre however is the perfect match for this one.
