I am reluctantly parting ways with this 80's gem. This is the exact model as my first serious bass. I sold that one when I was young and dumb and after it had served me very well as a budding pro player. Then, in my later sentimental years, I tracked down this exceptional specimen. Now I am cash-poor and bass-rich, but the bill collectors won't let me pay them in basses. Go figure. My loss, your gain.
This picture is NOT my bass, but my bass looks just like this one (except mine has top hat knobs). I need to install some string ferrules in mine and string it up, but I have every confidence it will be a great player. I went over it today and cleaned it up a bit, made sure everything functions as it should, and it does. Test spin with strings Saturday, and then I'll give you the report. Again, I have every confidence (after staring up close at basses for 35 years) that this is a player and the split P pickups and electronics will work just fine.
It will come in a gig bag of some sort, probably the standard foam padded zippered sleeping bag, and I'll pack it professionally. I'm tempted to break it down and ship it with the neck detached, which would save us both some coin.

This is a 1980's ELECTRA PHOENIX electric bass guitar. I believe a model X-630. Made in Japan, MIJ, in the Matsumoku factory. Overall the bass is solid and fully functional.
Frets in great shape. Some finish cracks, scuffs, dents. Too many to take pics of, suffice it to say it has been played and handled over the last 25+ years. Nothing major, no big chunks of wood missing or anything. I'd give it a solid 7.5/10 on the nitpick scale. The neck is in excellent shape, no dents or damage there. If you want pristine, pass this one by. If you want a player, this is for you.
You might also want to give it another once-over with your favorite cleaner. It's not filthy, but it's not ultra-clean either.
Features include: black hardware, brass nut, open tuners, 20 fret maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with dot markers, pearl finish body, matching headstock, split p-bass style pickups, 1 volume control, 1 tone control. Everything works as it should including the truss rod. Looks like everything is original.
