*****PRICE DROP******
Completely road-ready 2008 David Gage Czech Ease S1 with:
D neck
Tinneo finish
Realist pickup
Spirochore Orchestra mediums
Canvas gig bag
Standard flight case
Laborie-style end pin the previous owner had installed (which to me creates a huge improvement in balance, though as seen in the photos, the original end pin is still in place and it can be used if desired).
The bass was recently set up at Lemur Music and it plays great. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, except for some superficial scratches on the bass side upper bout where the previous owner stupidly dragged the gig bag's zipper over the body (as seen in the next to last photo) and a few tiny dings elsewhere. Any areas that appear as white marks in the photos are reflections from the camera flash.
The previous owner had a BassBalsereit pickup installed, which required drilling a hole of about 3/8" in the bass side of the bridge above the adjuster (clearly visible in one of the photos). To the best of my knowledge and ear, and in the opinion of the repair staff at Lemur, this does not affect the performance of the bass.
Obviously, a majority of the photos show the bass without a pickup installed. The last photo shows the Realist pickup in place, and just to avoid any confusion, that is the state which it is currently in and how it is being sold (with pickup).
Not including the setup, strings and end pin, current street price for this bass as it is outfitted (including the case, Tinneo finish upcharge and pickup) is about $5350. I have almost that much into it myself, but I will let it go for[DEL] $3900[/DEL]
NOW $3400 + shipping OBO
I ran a quote for shipping via FedEx Ground, and including insurance it looks like their rate is about $275 within the continental US. A local sale in Southern California would be preferred, but if a buyer ponies up I'd gladly ship it.
I'd be happy to answer any questions!
