I've been searching high and low for an affordable MVP-5, finally found this one and bought it from another TB member earlier this year. I had big plans to refinish it and replace the hardware but unfortunately, I cannot seem to adjust to the bridge spacing. Bummer.
Plenty of character and finish wear - see pics. The neck is super straight and the action can get really low with no buzzing. Frets are excellent and the brass nut is cut perfectly. I went through the bass top to bottom and replaced the pickup mounting screws and foam, adjusted the truss rod and bridge and installed new pots from Pedulla. The bass sounds plays and sounds really good.
1988 MVP-5
