Hey guys, I'm going to make this short. First $3100 cash takes it. I feel that this head and cab are worth every penny if not more.
About a year ago it was looked over and worked on my johnk_10 and is a phenomenal amp. The only reason I'm selling is because I'm not giggin' anymore and well.. it's just here now.
I use it about twice a week while relaxing downstairs for about an hour each day.
Here's what John did and had to say.

The Power tubes are ALL 6550 GE's made right here in the good ol' USA.
Here's the Cab
I can't explain the line between the 3 row and 4 row of speakers. Upon inspection it doesn't feel or look like a repair nor is it a "crack". If you close your eyes and run your finger over it you won't even feel it. So? I don't know what to make of it. Although I can guarantee that it does not effect the seal or sound or any aspect of the cab at all.
$2800 for the head alone.
$700 for the cab alone

Here's what John did and had to say.
Micheal (bongokid) brought his SVT over to me and i checked it out. it's a really great old amp. it needed two 12BH7's and a 12DW7 phase inverter since they were all noisey from vibration (internally). i replaced them with NOS philips ones and they sound great (with no noise). the hum balance pot was broken, so i replaced it with a NOS 100 ohm allen bradley and then set the hum balance to spec. i replaced the standby switch (which wasn't original), repaired some broken solder connections on the molex connector, repaired some faulty (popping) solder connections on the poweramp pcb, cleaned all of the tube sockets and set the bias and driver tube balance (its bias was way off when it arrived). to top it off, i replaced the grill cloth with some old original 70's ampeg cloth that i had (it had newer aftermarket cloth on it which looked really out of place).
BTW, at idle, after dialing it in, this is one of the quietest ones that i've worked on.
