Before I change my mind, I'm putting my Imperial up for sale to fund something major. This is, up until this point in my life, the greatest bass I have ever felt or heard, and whomever purchases this bass will be beyond satisfied. It was made in 2005, so unfortunately it can't be found in the newborn section on Fodera's site, but here are the specs:

Imperial 5 Elite
34" scale
19mm string spacing
Body: northern ash
Tone block: flamed maple
Neck: 3-piece maple
Fingerboard: birdseye maple
Top: olive
Pickups: Fodera/Duncan dual coils (birdseye covers and ramp)
Preamp: Most current Pope pre updated in 2011
Weight: 10.1 lbs. (incredibly well balanced!)

Check it out!: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wqWuQU4U8tE

Brand new, this bass would cost you in the $12,000-$13,000 range and would take 15+ months to complete. I'm looking for $9500 + shipping! Skip the wait and own a prime example of Fodera perfection right now! Please no trades!! Thanks!

thanks! It is bright, but there's a warmth that comes out between the punch of the ash and the birdseye board. It balances beautifully in both tone and weight with that signature Fodera sound leaning towards 70s jazz bass....here's a recent vid I did with it! (I used it to record this track as well!)

thanks dude! FWIW, I keep the bass in "passive" mode and in "dual coil" mode at all times! That's how great it sounds!

Not to derail the thread, Ive always LOVED Bona's Tone. He also keeps it passive I believe. Damn its probably one of the sweetest bass tones Ive ever heard, Although I think he favors the Bridge a bit more. But I definitely here the similarity even though he uses EMG's...
Someone will be very happy with this.

yes, this bass is VERY similar to Richard's bass. Only the pickups, tone block, and peg head config are different. He inspired me to run it passive after meeting him at a show we were both playing. The bass has a much more organic sound to it that way, IMO.

Hey, Bassdoubler

I love your tasteful playing. Great synching with the drummer too.
Really wish I could afford your bass.
GLWTS.

Someone's going to be a very happy camper!

I kept hoping they would show you playing for more than 3 seconds.

They should remake this video. But just you playing. The whole time. :bassist:

Awesome! We're actually going to be on the road for a bit and then it's pretty much all weddings for the rest of the summer until we do a little tour through Canada in late August. I'm sure we have a ton of Jersey shows coming up in the fall though....you can check our schedule on Soulfarm.net or friend us on Facebook! It would be cool to meet you there!

A GREAT guy and player -- Buy with confidence. Mitch brought this bass by my place a few weeks ago. If I was looking for a Fodera five I would be all over this one. It's everything you would want in a Fodera -- and with no wait time!

Sounds great. We will friend you guys on Facebook and keep our eyes open. Didn't see anything on your website though. And you guys absolutely do have a GREAT sound. Look forward to hearing/seeing you live. Bought an Emperor Standard 5 last year. If not, though, this bass would be some hard gas to walk away from.
