Hello all,

With regret, I'm offering my Jackstadt bass up for sale. My musical focus has changed, and reality has not: despite what I want, I'm just not tall enough to play what I want on this cannon (translation: I need a smaller bass).

Here's the vital stats:
Double Bass by Albert Jackstadt, #48, 1998

41.75’ string length, D neck
20’ Upper Bout
28’ Lower Bout
15’ Middle Bout
Rib Depth at block: 7’
Rib Depth: 9’

Price is $21,000. Bass would do very well with a C extension; I’m just not a fan. Tremendous Orchestra Bass and Solo Bass (if you’re a bit taller than me!). Mooradian Bag included.

Lame first post, apologies. I'll say something more interesting soon.
Edits: forgot the C. Sorry, Al!

Just wanted to chime in on what a great bass this is! I sit next to it in several sections and have done some set up work on the instrument.

The low end on this bass is massive. If you are looking for that heavy-duty punch, with a lot of spread then this is the bass for you. Well seasoned, good shape, and a few grand less than a brand new one.

Trust me, if I had an extra 21K sitting around, this bass would have never made it to TBDB.

Good Luck Braxton!

Bump of sorts: I'm not really willing to discuss trades, but If you've a high end German Bow (especially snakewood, and no, not a Yita) you'd like to part with, I'll certainly come off the price in exchange. Thanks for looking! Also, depending on where you are, I am willing to meet for a trial-just let me know!
