This may be the first P-bass I've ever thought I'd keep... but I'm an emotional flipper. The band is in decline and I'd rather upgrade my motorcycle this summer than have a cool P bass.
Recent purchase so I can't speak authoritively to it's history. The previous owner says he was mostly an at home player and had it for many years (I believe him for what that's worth). The serial says it's a '73. The neck stamp says '72. The pickup is original and sounds phenomenal. The pots have been replaced. Bridge saddles have been replaced (the hight adj screws on the originals were rusted still - they'll be included). It clearly lived in a smokers house but that funk has diminished some in the couple months I've had it. The truss rod turns nicely. Frets have a lot of wear but still very playable. Lots of natural player wear, no "abuse" though. I have not weighed it, but it's very light. Nicely broken in chromes (that have been on several other P's I've owned). No covers and only a chinsy gig bag. I can go to Guitar Center and get a modern case for a little extra. I know a guy selling a really nice shaped 70's case and can get that for a little more (assuming he has it still).
$1900 shipped lower 48. I take paypal. I'm not very into trades but I'd look at modern Fenders (J5 preferred) if you were expecting lowend value on the trade and adding cash.
