Hi. I'm selling one of my 3 vintage SUNN Model T heads. I'm not sure of the year of manufacture but the serial number is in one of the photos if anyone would like to educate me. My guess is '75-'76.

This head is in very good cosmetic shape. No major tolex or grille issues. Typical cracking of the leather handles. Missing the red caps on three of the knobs. This model is second generation with the mid scoop switch.

The head functions perfectly. No scratchy pots, leaky/noisy caps, or unwanted distortion. Plenty of volume and presence. All knobs work as they should. The tubes still have a lot of life as it was completely retubed and cleaned in January of '13 and was only used as my backup. It could also be seen gracing stages with Clint Conley of Mission of Burma as this amp was a component of his live setup. It has always been well maintained and lovingly cared for. Since it came into my possession about twelve years ago It always travelled in a flight case, which is not for sale. The prior owner (bassist of a band called The Brandos out of NJ) always travelled it in a flight case.

I need to get to my space to take more detailed internal photos and get the brand of tubes. I will answer any/all questions to the best of my ability.

This is my first attempt at a TB sale. I am a reliable and serious seller/buyer. I have shipped many tube amps with no issues. My ebay ID is blackcopter if you'd like to view my feedback. I have also made a successful recent TB purchase of a fEARful 1515/66/1 and am in the process of purchasing a Verrellen Meatsmoke rack preamp from another TB member. In fact, that's why I'm selling this SUNN.

I would take partial trades and cash for lawsuit basses, branded Ibanez preferred. Also looking for a nice power amp to complement the Meatsmoke. My asking price is now lowered to 1500 dollars shipped to CONUS bubble wrapped, double boxed, and fully insured.

Adding to the possibilities:
I have 3 of these heads. They are all in excellent condition. Well maintained by the same meticulous tech for my entire time of ownership. All service and repair work was done within original spec.

This is now a "two option" listing:

Head number one is outfitted and properly re-biased to specs supplied by eurotubes (Bob at Eurotubes is another SUNN nut) with matchedJJ KT88's and JJ 12AX7's, one of which is a high gain option recommended for dialing in a bit more grit. This is my main head, run as a stereo pair with my identical #2. When biased properly, the JJ's are long lasting and a bit more "growly" especially with the high gain pre. Lots of clean headroom and plenty of creamy distortion can be dialed in if desired. A great amp for Doom/drone/psych and metal.

The second head is the item listed up top. Identical in every respect except for the 3 missing knob caps, slightly faded faceplate logo and importantly: outfitted with 6550's in the power section and stock 12AX7s in the pre. Brand unknown but they are high quality, not no-names. I'll specify brand when I take the panel off to photograph internals. This head is a little cleaner sounding, though you can get it to break up nicely at higher volumes. There's a distinct "piano" sound that was more suited for heavy indie rock/punk which is why this was used by Clint from Burma on the past few records as well as occasional shows on the east coast.

I'm only selling one head so this would be either/or...buyer's choice. Asking price reduced to 1500 shipped CONUS.

I will be taking very detailed photographs including chassis and close ups as soon as I can get to the studio.

I'm opening this to offers or trades plus cash. Carvin, Crest or other interesting power amps in the 750w range @4phms are high on my want list.

I would have loved to own the amp Clint used. His tone on The Obliterati record blows me away.

That one is still in the arsenal. He used the growly KT88 w/hot preamp on later recordings IIRC.

Nothing is off limits. Gonna see how much I like maintenance free SS high power vs.staying on top of low wattage tube grit.
