I'll start by noting that this particular amp has received a good deal of notoriety here, and a healthy dose of vinegar has been spilled over it. This one I got from a fellow TB'er a few months ago, and I'll put it on the table: I played a few rock gigs with it, and when I slammed down with some reckless abandon, hard, on a note, at times it would go quiet- just for a second, and then come right back. I have been told that this is the amp's limiter kicking in, but this was not to my liking... however when I brought it to a reggae gig, country gig, other gigs which required a little less 'wanton volatility' in the performance, it performed without a blink. Sounds very nice indeed- lots of low end and good mids, etc. It's a real nice amp and in fact has enough power for anything I've brought it to. And you can funk it up, hit it, play it like you mean it. Except for the mention above, which for me is stylistically unusual for most paying gigs anyway. And now, on to the advertisement portion of this post...
500w @ 4 ohms. Typical Ampeg front panel layout. A notch larger and heavier than your standard class-D micro-head, it still fits in a laptop bag and fills a room with a big blooming bass, as long as you have the speakers to do it. A very Ampeg-sounding class-D head, I've enjoyed having it.
It will come with a power cord and a padded beater-laptop bag with a shoulder strap.
