For sale is my Rickenbacker Blackstar bass. made by Rickenbacker in 1988, this Blackstar was #17 of 200 to be created. As yiou may know the Blackstar was made for Mike Mesaros of the Smithereens. The Blackstar was a limited production model and is a neck through rock maple body and neck. There is no bubinga fretboard on this bass., It is maple and integral with the neck. The entire bass is black and has micro dot fret markers. Blackstar #17 is bone stock with the exception of the treble pup surround I installed.
She is flawless in every way! The blems you see on the fotos are either dust or reflections. A black bass is a pain in the neck to take fotos of!! The neck is straight as an arrow and the action is super low! This bass is a joy to play and sounds mean, like a Rickenbacker should!! I'd love to keep her but I just don't play her. She collects dust and that is a shame! She will come packed securely in an RIC vintage re-issue case (silver & black tolex). I did not take fotos of the case but it is in excellent condition!
Price is $3,000. firm plus the cost to ship her to you. You pick the method but I'd prefer to ship via Fed. Ex.
Please no tire kickers! I know she is a wonderful bass, thanks for looking!!
