For Sale is my stunning and rare Ken Smith BSR Elite "G" (Artist Package) BSR5EG 2003 Exhibition Grade Quilted Maple 5 String
Super buttery feel and sweet tone. This is an amazing top of the line Ken Smith and the prettiest I have ever seen. The figuring/3D rippling effect in the quilted maple is stunning. You want to touch it to see if it is really smooth. Truly the nicest bass I have ever played and probably ever will.
I am actually afraid to bring this bass to a gig or even rehearsal as it is "too nice" and too expensive for me to feel comfortable using. I only practice with what I am going to actually play, so this bass never makes it out of its case except for those rare occasions where I get to show off my collection. And even then it doesn't get played. It is kind of ridiculous to keep a bass that I am too uptight about keeping "mint" to ever play or even display. So, I am finally selling her.

It has a tiny mark on the bottom on the jack side (see pic -4th from the bottom) and that is all I can find in terms of flaws or wear on the finish. Anything else is like a light fingernail mark where the bass has to be held just at the right angle looking super close across the surface to see any change in the reflection off of the gloss. I was able to capture the one on the bottom of the neck (see close up pic - 18th picture down - just to the left of the end of the reflection of the lights) but I couldn't get the same underneath the strings between the pups. They are even lighter and the wood is so light in tint that it is too hard to see and I can't get anything to photograph. This is crazy detail stuff but I am truly seeing this bass as near perfect so I am trying to describe in those terms.
