Fender Custom Shop '64 Jazz Bass Relic
Includes Original Case & Certificate of Authenticity
Very cool Fender Custom Shop 1964 Jazz Bass, made in 2004, Ser. # R241XX. Great (factory relic) condition. The relic job on this is one of the most tasteful I've seen. All the hardware is aged (including the chrome covers) and it has some cool finish checking, but it's a conservative relic job - No buckle rash on the back or huge worn areas, just a few dings and scratches here and there. It just looks like a nice clean 50 year old bass. Awesome looking nitro-cellulose Sunburst finish. Neck has some nice flaming on the back too! I've had 3 of these CS '64s and this is the best of the bunch, in terms of everything. I'm selling to help fund a recent vintage bass purchase. This bass should be someone's #1!
It balances nicely and weighs 9 lbs. on the dot with the covers on. The (quartersawn) neck is straight and the truss rod works good (still flush with the butt of the neck). Plays fantastic with very low action, no dead notes. Original frets have almost no wear. No issues whatsoever.
Comes with the original black tolex hard shell case, which is in fine structural condition, but it's a little dinged up and has a few stickers and duct tape residue on the outside of it. The Certificate of Authenticity is also included, as well as the vintage-style leather strap and polish cloth.
