This 1978 Kramer features an aluminum neck, meaning it's super sturdy and rigid, which is great for fretless. Aluminum won't move around so this bass doesn't need a truss rod that normal basses need to counteract the strings pulling the neck. The bass is super sturdy all around. The tuners are really nice and this bass stays in tune better than any bass i've owned. The finish has a really nice glossy kind of stain, it is really good at keeping dirt off and looking nice and shiny. Under that is a gorgeous walnut with maple stripes. Features two humbuckers with tone, volume controls and a pickup selector (neck, both, and bridge). The pickups are a good distance apart so there's a lot of variety in the sound between them. Neck pickup is super fat and the bridge is very cutting and present. The bass is setup well and is easy to play. Neck is decently chunky but not uncomfortable. Weight isn't as bad as you might expect it to be. Not light weight but I have no problems standing up and playing for a long time. I'm not sure if this bass was defretted by someone or if it came this way out of a factory but if it was defretted, the owner did a solid job. This bass is lined which makes it easier to play in tune. There are also the standard dots on the side of the neck.
This bass has a few oddities. There's a small hole right above the E string's saddle, no idea what it's from. There's also a small hole that a previous owner drilled in the knob section. One of the knobs fell off while the bass was being shipped to me and a bit of plastic broke when I reattached it. Another knob appears to be glued on and has a similar effect. (these kind of knobs suck, bad choice Kramer!) None of this affects the instrument in any way and are only slightly cosmetic. I made sure to document them in my pictures. Besides that, there are a couple of scratches and necks from use. I've only had this bass for about 3 months and it's been kept inside my house to be played. I can't speak for the other 35 years but this thing is in really great shape for it's age.
This bass is hands down the most beautiful bass I've ever owned. But I'm constantly looking to try new things so I am passing the aluminum torch to another musician.

Sorry for the delay, I had a busy weekend. I took off the bridge and took some pics. Looks like someone chipped up the space under the bridge quite a bit for some reason. Interesting route? No idea. You can also see that the screw hole near the E string saddle is not aligned with the rest, which is why that small gap appears below the bridge that you can see in the first picture.
