Up for grabs is a modded MTD Kingston 5 string. Love the bass, just finding out I'm probably a Fender Jazz player for life so I'd just rather have the extra cash right now. It's got:
- Mahogany body, spalted maple top, one piece maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and matching spalted maple headstock.
-Bolt on, 24 (medium jumbo) fret neck with a zero fret that's 1 3/4" at the nut. (Buzz Feiten tuning
system)
-35" Scale
-Asymmetrical neck profile with a satin polyester finish
-Two way truss rod
-Quick release bridge
-Black chrome hardware
-Volume, Active/Passive switch, and pickup pan knob
-Elixir heavy gauge strings
Mods include:
-Black Tusq XL Nut
-Matching spalted maple truss rod cover (original black plastic cover included)
-Nordstrand Dual Coil humbuckers
-Audere 3 band Preamp with Bass/Mid/Treble, 3 way impedance switch, and a blue LED battery life indicator
-Flush mount Dunlop strap locks
-9v battery upgraded to 18v wiring
-Control cavity and plate completely shielded with copper tape

It has minimal dings and scratches, only the ones shown in the picture of the butt end of the bass. Minor dent by the nut on the headstock as shown, but that's about it. The only other thing is the poorly installed string thru bridge ferrules on the back. (never assume a friend knows what he's doing when you ask someone to work on your bass) They were hammered in and ended up cracking the finish around where they were installed, but no more than what's shown in the pictures.

These retail new without the upgraded electronics and pickups for $1250, I'm only asking $800 shipped OBO with gig bag. Paypal is preferred, would consider trades but I'm mainly looking for cash.

Here's a link to a recent recording I did with this bass. I've got a home studio so I can send recorded samples of all of the settings if requested. Thanks for checking it out!

It's tuned standard at BEADGE. Intonation across the whole bass is great due to the buzz feiten zero nut, chords sing in tune all the way up the neck. It is the stock bridge too.
... Uhhh .. I am not trying to be a smart@ss but... It's a 5 right.. ? BEADGE? Nice looking bass.. I got one stock from here about a year or so ago for the same price so with all that it's a bargain for sure on a bass that is sweet stock .... I am actually thinking of that same Audere setup in mine .. How was the install? Also .. doing the flush mounted Dunlops.. do they use the same buttons as the standard? What are those 3 holes in the back?

Very nice track too BTW.. sounds great...

Yeah, I think the 6th string mention was a typo on PB's part. I'm the original owner of the bass, and the one who had all the mods done (except for that unfortunate string-thru-bridge ferrule thing). They were professionally installed by Jim Mouradian (if you're a Boston-area cat, you know the man and his work), and he seemed to be of the opinion it was a fairly straightforward and easy install. I'm a fan of the Audere and Nordy combination for sure - extremely versatile, you can go from 'modern' to 'vintage' sounding with very little effort. Wish I had $800 to spare at the moment, but alas...
