Here's a couple sound clips. I had a few others but I didn't realize while recording that they were clipping the mic on my Zoom H2 pretty badly. If there's something specific someone wants to hear I can recorded it but otherwise here's one of me playing a line pick style and then playing a line in the upper register.

In both cases I play the same thing through each of the five pickup selection options. I start with the neck pickup, then neck+middle, middle soloed, middle+bridge and then bridge soloed.

Nibbles but no bites. And thanks for trade offers but I'm only selling to raise cash.

Thanks!

that is wicked cool.

Thanks Chef!

Are there any other clips that people want to hear? With the Aeros and the ash neck & ebony fingerboard the bass is naturally clear and articulate and can be unforgiving of slop. It's got a great rock tone and it also sounds awesome palm muted. And if I want a more vintage vibe I just dial the volume back just a touch and it sounds great for fingerstyle funk, slap etc.

The pickups are high output so it is loud for a passive bass. I've also had it strung E-C and it sounds great that way as well. Upper register playing and chords are remarkably clear.

I had a couple requests for fingerstyle samples and samples of the low B on this bass so here is another clip:

Well, not super quick as I've had it for about a year now. ;)

Honestly I started selling basses because we had extra costs associated with buying our new house and because I'd simply accumulated too many.

This is the last of four basses I decided to put up for sale but I've come to realize that I'm just happier/more comfortable on four string basses so I'll have two more up for sale in the next few months. And honestly it has a very bright and aggressive voicing to it (especially with a pick) that is cool but not a tone I use in the music I'm currently playing. Now if I was doing a Who tribute band or any kind of punk/hardrock thing this bass would kill. When I had it strung E-C it was also fantastic for chording, tapping and upper register soloing.

I guess time flies when you're doing soul-sucking office work because it doesn't seem like that long ago to me. Fair enough, congrats on the new house! I love the tone from your sound clips, plus it's a beautiful bass. If I had some extra funds then I'd seriously consider taking it off your hands, but Chris is about to finish up my first custom so my cash is going towards that. Good luck with the sale!

Definitely send me pictures of your Stambaugh when it's done, I think Chris does fantastic work.

And for anyone else checking this thread out let me know if there are any other sound clips you want or details I can provide.
