I have not been actively playing for quite a while. My trusty 4005 has lain unused for nearly four years. It is time to let go of it.
Brief details:
I bought it at a pawn shop in 1985
It comes with its original hardshell case
Both the instrument and case are in very good-but-used condition
Dale Fortune refurbished the neck (finish, fretboard, frets, nut, and truss rods) in August 2009
The bass is original except for the clear tug bar, some screws, the output jack (but the jack plates is original), and the blend control (which is now a toggle switch)
Complete documentation comes with it, including the original sales receipt
The moon-eyes stickers can easily come off. I just don't have the heart to do it myself.
There is a small wear spot on the back, age-related crazing in the finish, and mild wear. This is the real deal. It plays and sounds exactly as you would want.
Asking price is $10k by PayPal or bank transfer. The bass is located in eastern Tennessee.
Oh, and the 4001 in one of the photos is only for comparison. It left the fold a long time ago.
More photos available upon request.
Thanks for looking!
