It would be cool if this could be donated to a kid in need rather then bass players with a ton of gear, I may have knobs and have more gig bags and straps then I need....

I was gonna give it to my son, but I agree with the sentiment.

I agree and have thought about giving the bass bass to someone needy , but it does need a bit of maintenance so I'd feel bad about that.

I have also considered taking it to my local GC and give it to them to fix up and sell. I can tell them: "Don't say the customers never gave back to GC!"

GC will give you $10 for it if they take it at all. If you can get it in working order and donate it to a local public schools music program, that would be pretty cool.

Then you haven't seen the garbage I have bought from there used site described at a 4/5 when its a 1/5.

He could probably get $50 in trade in store credit

I'd be happy with a set of strings. My local GC has actually been pretty good to me over the years, so really don't have to much to complain about.

I have relatives in Amherst. Would you be willing to drop it off there if I gave you an address? I've got a student who desperately needs a bass. He uses the school's during the school year, but has nothing in the summers. I'll fix it up for him and let him have it.
