I bought this bass thinking I might want to learn to play fretless someday. Well I still might, but not anytime soon. Thus this bass is just sitting in its case in my closet and needs a loving home. Ok, what is the story on this bass? I bought this bass here on TB last year after about a week of playing the pre-amp died...I tried to contact Yamaha but never got a response from them (email, voice mail,etc). So I picked up a BassMods pre and had that installed. Once I got it back, the output of the pickups when married with the BassMods Pre was pretty wimpy....So I picked up some Nordstrand soap bar pickups. Bam! great sound, great output, not wimpy! since the P2 soap bars did not fit so I had a couple of sleeves made. All of this and the bass sound better than it ever did with the original equipment but, alas, I really don't have time to learn to play well on it.
Yamaha TRB made in Japan. First 500 bucks takes it, ship in a hard, but used, case.
