SOLD! ~ $1050 Shipped/obo CONUS 48 - *NO TRADES PLEASE*

Up for grabs is my new (essentially) G&L LB-100. Now I know what some of you are going to say: "After all you went through trying to get this bass, you're just going to let it go??"

For those of you who don't know, I waited 8.5 months to get it because G&L screwed up my first build twice and I finally had them rebuild it from scratch. Well, maybe it's what I went through trying to get it that wore down my excitement for this bass, but I'm just not feeling it. It is a wonderful playing and sounding instrument, it's just not for me.

It was built in April of this year and has seen very little use in my personal practices, so there isn't a ding or scratch anywhere. The frets have been PLEK'd so the bass achieves low action easily. I also had it professionally shielded and it is dead quiet.

It comes with the OHSC, Certificate of Authenticity, and all the paperwork and case candy. As you can see in the picture, I had custom wood knobs made (cocobolo and maple), but the original metal knobs will also be included.

Body: Swamp Ash
Finish: "Old School" Tobacco Sunburst
Pickguard: Red Tort

Strings: Brand New GHS Pressurewound
Knobs: Cocobolo w/ Maple Indicator Line and Original Chrome

Ok, seriously though what is it specifically that you're not feeling? What did you play prior to this or what else do you have? I only ask b/c I have been playing active 2 pickup basses for 25 years plus but have been jonesin for a passive P. Mostly for the look, the simplicity and the legend of it all. That being said, I am afraid I won't dig the sound? I would love to hear the process you went through to get here. I DO want to buy it, I LOVE G&L and this bass is stunning!!

I've had a G&L SB-2, a few Fender P's...it's not the playability or the tone at all. I'll give you the back story in case you didn't see it:

I ordered a different LB-100 in August of last year (same thing, different color). It arrived in November with a twisted neck. So I sent it back. In March or early April when I got the neck rebuilt and they shipped it back to me, the electronics were all of a sudden screwed up. It was extremely noisy and the jack kept cutting out. I had a local dealer look at it and aside from fixing the jack they couldn't figure out what the problem was with the electronics. At that point I had been waiting 8 months between the initial build and the neck rebuild. So I told them I wanted to be rebuilt completely. In compensation they upgraded the finish to this one (which isn't usually mentioned and you have to ask). During that whole time the experience just wore me down and to be honest, I didn't even WANT the rebuild. I wanted my money back at that point but they wouldn't do that.

So it's basically this: I had an expectation of how I'd feel while playing a bass that I planned out and mulled over for a while and waited patiently for. It was my first custom. G&L, though they eventually made things right, essentially killed the dream for me. When I play it, I like it. I really do..but I don't look forward to picking it up and playing it mostly because it's a reminder to me of all the crap I went through.

Hopefully that makes sense. I don't want to give the impression that there is anything wrong with it. It's perfect. I'm just not eager to play their products I think is what it comes down to.
