I played my very first F Bass at Jimmy Coppolo's bass boutique on Manhattan in the Summer of 1997. I was totally blown away by the craftsmanship and quality of the instruments even then. And over the years they have just become better.
You are looking at a very rare instrument. This is a Custom George Furlanetto 5 String made in 2001. There are only 4 or 5 of these in existence. George made them all by hand himself and used "GFC" on the headstock rather than the standard "F" This one was completed on May 10, 2001. The electronics are the same as the BN5 for the time period. Two humbuckers with a coil tap for the pickups (70's position). 9 volt preamp wired V/V/T and B/M/T with push pull for active/passive and coil tap. The body is ash with a gorgeous, 34.5" scale one piece birds-eye maple neck and 19mm spacing at the bridge. When you think of a flexible, jazz bass on steroids...this bass is it. The bass is in very good condition. It has some dings near the output jack and some wear on the pickup covers. All of these can be seen in the pictures.
