This project started as a Squier Classic Vibe bass body with a MIM Mike Dirnt neck.
- I stripped the finished and did a complete Nitro refinish on it in Sonic Blue.
- All my I wanted a beefier sounding pickup instead of another P bass. I added a Seymour Duncan SMB-4a pickup is the alnico version.
- The pickup has a custom pickup route cover that is made from polished aluminum that I had made by Fretsonthenet.com
-All electronics are upgraded to CTS and Orange drop. I wired the pickup to a toggle switch to have Series/Split/Parallel options. Series sounds huge, a lot of low end and clarity on the high end. Split sounds more like a classic P bass and parallel adds another flavor of tone for it.
- Pickguard has been cut to accommodate the new pickup. I never attached it with screws. So you can choose whether you want to have it attached.
- The nitro is starting to age beautifully. Some stand marks and some yellowing on the bass where my hand rests from playing.
- Weight is a hair under 9lb

It's a great bass. The neck has a satin finish to it and it plays and feels great. Neck is super stable, I played both flats and rounds on it. Frets so little to no wear. This bass ended up being my 3rd or 4th bass in playing so it never saw extensive playing times. Let me know if you have any questions.
