SOLD

After a long time contemplating, I've decided to put this great bass up for sale. It's just not being played enough, and it deserves to be loved.

I purchased this beautiful 35" scale Q5 from the 2nd owner in 2007, and it saw a lot of gigs between 2007-2011. Since that group disbanded, it's seen sporadic jazz gigs and recordings. It plays and sounds great, but I've never really gotten comfortable with the string spacing.

The bass is alder with a beautiful quilt maple top with some great burling. Gold hardware is in good shape, with minimal surface pitting. Overall it's in great condition. There are a few issues to mention. The main is that the fingerboard has some wear, which on the D string is fairly significant. I just feel that a few of the notes don't sustain as well as they should. I'm sure there's a fix for it, but I'll leave that to the new owner. There are also a few small nicks in the finish on the treble side edge, and a small finish chip on the neck. The control cavity cover has also had a crack since I bought it, you just have to be careful with it. All these issues are pictured. Lastly, the input jack either needs to be re-soldered or replaced. I'll be happy to take care of that for the new buyer before shipping if you so choose. Comes with a hard shell case that is functionally protective, all latches work, but the feet are crushed and there is a corner crack, also pictured.

SOLD Price is $1,950 shipped to the lower 48. No international shipping at this time. PayPal is fine. No trades, but if you have a vintage ash/maple jazz or a nice hollowbody I'd at least take a look. But an outright sale is preferred as I have my eye on a few things.

Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for viewing!

Please describe the preamp in this bass. Both my Q5 and M-92 have two band EMGs, but I'd prefer a three band on the toothless. :-)

This bass has EMGs, with an Aguilar OBP3 preamp, if I remember correctly. I'm out of town at the moment and can't open it up, but I'm pretty sure it's an Aggie pre. Volume, blend, mid, bass/treble, all with center detent.
