I have one of these and it is the most amazing upright tone and feel you can buy for the money. I call it my "poor man's carved top" because I get the tone, feel and sustain of the aged/seasoned carved top $30K+ basses from Europe which I only get to test drive and drool all over now and again for less than $4K (new). The piezo and Magnetic PUPS with the blend control on this model makes it such that you can literally dial in the perfect amount of upright response and attack for each song's particular style & speed etc. making it THE model to get. The bass is extremely comfortable with unlimited angles and heights with the tri-pod stand. Being able to keep your thumb behind the neck through the entire range up the fingerboard while getting the sweetest, growliest, aged carved top tone and ridiculous sustain is more than cheating, it is an absolute blast. Much easier on the joints, tendons, ligaments, too, so stave off that tendonitis. And the portability of this bass is outstanding. Strings for this bass making the most of the through body design are pricey and usually out of stock/special order. But, they are well worth it and they last a long long time.

This is an amazing deal, too for the CR5M model with both pup systems and the blend control. Sure wish I had discovered Talkbass about 10 years ago!

GLWTS! This should not last long if TBers know what they are looking at here.

BTW - note to the new buyer - make sure you wrap that tri-pod stand in some heavy duty bubble wrap or equivalent BEFORE you put it into the separate bag provided which then slips into the gig bag with the rest of the bass. Not sure if they changed the design of the tri-pod stand bag since I purchased mine, but the padding on the provided bag is NOT thick enough to protect the bass/neck from the sharp edges of the heavy steel tri-pod stand moving around inside of the gig bag and it caused the only dings I have on my bass in over 10 years of gigging with it.

Mine never came with a separate tripod bag. It came with a marginal un padded gig bag ( now my mic stand bag) which I immediately upgraded to the padded gig bag shown here.
