I have not used the DI on it so you may want to search forums to see what folks have said. The amp has a very clean and crisp sound, IMO.
As far as gigging with it, it's only 100 watts. But I think it's a pretty potent 100 watts. My last gig with it was for a musical theatre performance in a 90-seat house. Bass, keys, very loud guitar, and 12-person belting ensemble. The amp did fine, although it was about as far as I would push it. I think the sweet spot is small venues with band configurations up to quintets...depending on what the instrumentation is.
Before the project came along, my plan was to pick up a PJB powered cabinet to make the Cub more gig-able when I needed to push more air.
