**AVAILABLE FOR DELIVERY BETWEEN SF AND SEATTLE IN EARLY OCTOBER**

Widely considered one of the best plywood basses ever made, original King basses are especially coveted by Blues, Country, and Bluegrass musicians. Willie Dixon himself played a bass just like this one!

I bought it to use as a backup, and it's awesome, but II can't justify owning two uprights right now.

It's an outstanding example of an old King bass. It was owned for most of its life by a gigging musician in the pacific northwest, and was played on hundreds of gigs. Several years ago it was bought by a part-time luthier who did some work on it, and who played some bluegrass gigs himself.

It's in fantastic condition and ready to play--nice thick fingerboard, 43.5" string length. I've had adjusters added since these photographs were taken, and a pro setup done.
The edges and purfling are in exceptionally good condition, as are both "King" decals. It has some small rash spots here and there, but it's overall condition and appearance is beautiful.

The neck and the entire bass are solid as a rock--no buzzes, no rattles, no issues. The crack on the side of the neck has been determined to be superficial by a master luthier--it poses no long-term risk for the instrument.

Sound is loud and punchy, and the bass plays smoothly and evenly over the whole neck.

Price is $2750. Includes cover in photos, K&K pickup, and a no-name french bow. Cover needs zipper repair, but the previous owner fashioned a grommet and lace system that works pretty well.

This bass will be in the SF bay area for another 2 weeks or so and will then be making its way north with me to Seattle. I'm willing to meet interested parties along the way.

I'm really trying to downsize and am not very interested in trades, but I'll consider partial trades that include at least $2K cash. Thanks for looking, and please feel free to ask questions or PM me.

Don't suppose this came from a guy in Montana who passed away last year did it?
