Hey Reddog,

Is that 32" scale sx bass still available? I'm interested. What's the frankenbass combination? I haven't seen a medium scale pj sx body for a while. Also what is the weight? Thanks!

Weight? Analog bathroom scale is horrible ... says 7ish pounds. Old food scale from the family farm says almost 8 lbs.

I'm somewhat interested in the bass, but I have a few questions.
Initially, I thought it looked like this is a Medium scale (New Headstock) neck on a Full size (Full Scale) 3TS PJ body.
Upon closer inspection, the P pickups look more like they are from a short scale body.
What parts and scale lengths went into creating it?
Were you able to intonate it?
I took some measurements from your posted pic... which are only marginally good for assessing ratios, and could be affected by camera angle... and noticed that the lower scale length is significantly longer than the upper.
In other words, the distance from the 12th fret to the G string saddle is much longer than the distance from the G string nut to 12th fret length.
Are those two lengths identical... VERY close to 16"? Or do they differ? And if they do, what are the actual measurements?
BTW... Nice looking bass.

P/J body - SX Short Scale
Neck - SX medium scale
Bridge - Moved to medium scale (32") position.

The pickups are standard, universal P and J pickups.

Moving bridge allowed me to intonate just fine.

Measurements - nut to 12th = 16".
12th to barrels = "E" - 16 1/4"
"A", "D" = about 16 1/8"
"G" - 16"

This is natural, and why they have movable saddles.

Hello,
I was looking through medium scale basses again and saw this bass. I remember you said is weighs about 8 pounds and has a small scale body. Does she balance well? I hate neck dive and holding bass necks up. Eyeballing this one again and GAS building... Thanks.

Life has gone on... and this guy eventually moved to a wall hanger. :) Still essentially unplayed!
Time to sell off some artwork, get $, and finish my new kitchen.
