1977 Carl Thompson carved scroll 4 string bass. 26 frets. Clover inlays. 34" scale. Mahagony body. Maple neck. Rosewood fingerboard. Ebony control cover. Headstock veneers and neck heel might be rosewood. BadAss bridge. Passive electronics.
Im fairly certain the pickups are DeArmond and Schaller 404. I sent Carl a message to confirm and waiting to hear back.
Normal wear and minor scrapes, dings from 37 years of playing.
Everthing is original except: It was recently refretted by Carl and company about 2 years ago with no wear since. He also replaced the original pots on the controls.
I also replaced the strap holders with Dunlop strap locks. Ill put the originals back on if desired.
Last week it had a plek job done by Phil Jacoby at Philtone in Baltimore. Also minor fret dressing on the ends. Its set with pretty low action and plays and feels great. No buzz on any frets. I can include the paperwork. Please note pics were taken just before plek. They are now really shiny looking.
Very comfortable worn in neck. Neck measurement at nut is about 1 9/16". 2" at 12th fret. 2 1/4" at 24th fret. String spacing at bridge 2 1/8". Ill grab more measurments if needed.
Comes with Original Hard Shell case. Its in good shape but I usually pad out the neck area to suspend the headstock if I took it out. The padding seems worn down over time in that particular spot.
Sorry No Trades. ConUS only please. More pics available just ask. Please send pm if interested. My ebay id ref: sshlann .
Ive owned it for about 5 years. Reason selling is Im a 5 string guy and hate seeing it not played.
Bass will be well packed and insured for shipping.
Thanks.
