It's back...I LOVE this bass, however arthritis is progressing, so I need something short scale and light, hoping to get a birdsong.
33" scale, cedar is the main wood but many pieces make it up. It's been played, a lot. It now has 2 SGD pickups and just an on/off switch. I still have the helms pickups with wood covers, but the routing for the SGD's makes it not really reversible unless you made some sort of bezel. I can't imagine why you'd swap out the SGD's though, they're fantastic. This bass sits in a mix really well.
About 8 lbs even, nice flat neck. Currently I have my homemade mute on it, which is easy to take on and off between songs, but I can totally remove it if you don't want it. Also, there's a tiny hole on the back where I drilled an extra strap button for a homemade duo strap, it doesn't affect anything and you'll never see it while playing. This bass is a player and is one of a kind.
It has inlaid Dunlop strap locks and I'll include the other pieces for you as well. Currently wearing d'addario chromes, I can also include round wounds if you prefer. I love it with the flats though.
Anyway, it pains me to sell it but pain is making me sell it.
I'd like $900 shipped. I'm in NJ near giants stadium and you're welcome to check the bass out, I can meet you somewhere. I'm in manhattan (upper west side) every Sunday afternoon/ evening as well. I'll knock a little off the price for a local sale.
I will post better pictures tomorrow, currently I'm riding in a van on the way home from a gig. But here's a pic with the old pickups and a close up with the new ones from when my repairman was working on it. The holes are neatly filled now with the on/off switch in the first hole.
Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!
