I believe this is a 2005 or 2006.
It has the Hanson pickups and they sound great. It weighs 8lbs. 4oz on a digital bathroom scale.

Really nice axe! I've never played the Hanson jazz pickups, and wondering how much noise they make compared to standard Fender J bass pickups. Of course, I'm assuming they are passive. I work a lot under theatrical lighting conditions, with pesky ground issues, and the only way I've ever gotten rid of all the noise is to go completely active. I own a Lakland 55-02 with the LH3 active setup and they are dead quiet in these instances, as are my basses with active EMG's and Seymour Duncans. Your thoughts? Thanks.

The pickups are passive single coils. They aren't very noisy. Not as some basses I have are, but these are susceptible to noise in extreme cases just like any other single coil. Just like any passive jazz bass.

Sorry for the thread drift, but just curious as to where you got the tort guard? I can probably have one made, or does a Fender guard fit? Thanks.

What is the serial number? The first two digits will tell you the year. Are you sure it's Hanson pickups? An 05 would have Fralins and I think most of 06 would as well.

Serial begins 07. I was informed through this thread about the skyline serial numbers beginning with the year. News to me. I haven't looked into the pickups or opened the bass at all till tonight. This one is made in Korea.
I typically dig around for info like that but this bass just sounds and plays

so good I simply plug it in and forget the rest. That's not usually my style, I'm a gear head.
