Prat 6 string. For trade towards a 5 stringer.
I got this beautiful bass a few months back with every intent of making the adjustment needed towards a six string player. I was always intrigued with the fact of covering more ground in fewer positions, and this was the perfect bass for that when considering feel, tonal options, appearance and stability of wood combination.
Unfortunatly, not long after getting this I realized that a fretless would be best for my current band setting. Picked up a fretless 5 and soon came to the conclusion that a present I’d have to commit my time to one or the other. The Prat lost. Had to focus on my fretless playing, and uncertain when I might be able to get back to adjusting to 6 again (was actually building muscle memory too).
I can’t just let this instrument sit, so up for trade it goes.
I have a few other 5s, so I’ll be somewhat more specific as to what I’m interested in.

Ocsar Prat is being referred to as one of the up and coming luthier’s. I haven’t found a negative thing one about him, and his customer service is impeccable.

It does. It's my first time with Nordstrand pups. First time with a Noll preamp. So I can't say if it's either one or the other, but I do know paired up, it's a beautiful thing.
Band members come from varying background of music. Jazzers, rockers, blues and metal and all had nothing but positive comments on the tone the few times I had it out live.

Oh my Goodness! That is Sweet!

Have Oscar convert this baby to a lined fretless and you have nirvana!!!!

Keep learning 6 and do it on a fretless! Two birds one stone. Fretless begs for those melodic lines leveraging the higher registers and the 6er makes it soooo much easier. Plus you get to play more of the notes on the sweet spot of the strings for maximum mwah.

Go Oscar!

Used the Prat the other night on a gig. Though I did stumble around on it thru a few songs, the tone and clarity just floored other members. Our keyboard player, who also doubles on bass, pleaded with me to keep the Prat.
Though I keep having 2nd thoughts, I know it's in my best interest to move it on to someone that will use it as it should be.
