I just picked up this fantastic older ('80s?) Nitro cellulose fender '62 RI tort jazz guard but have dropped the project I was building. It is the hard to find '60s style red tort and is lightly used with some mojo. With screws.

It should fit fine. I've put these RI '62 guards on mim jazz basses several times. The mim jazz won't have holes drilled for a tug bar or the pickup cover, but that's not a big deal. Add those holes in the body or not, it'll look fine either way!
This will also fit American, geddy Lee and other cij jazz basses

I don't know about the 2001 MIM, but the RI pickguards will not fit my 1992 MIM.
