This bass is a one of a kind Canadian hand built Dingwall Prima Artist 5 string model that features a semi-hollow dual density body core that is made from Flame Black Walnut on the bass side and Eastern Flame Soft Maple on the treble side of the bass for improved tonal clarity. The top and back wood is Redwood Burl with Western Big Leaf Flame Maple contrast layers and perfect match wood knobs, all with a high gloss finish. The Flame Rock Maple/Walnut multi-laminate bolt-on neck is Carbon Fiber reinforced and it features a 24 fret 2 octave Novak fanned Macassar Ebony fretboard with Evo gold frets, custom Smoke inlays and a matching headstock. The scale length of this bass varies from 37" to 34" from the "B" string to the "G" string for the optimum tone of each string. There is also a Hipshot extender tuning key on the "B" string that allows you to drop to an "A" and back with the flip of a lever. The pickups are the Dingwall Prima Artist "soapbar" type with perfect match wood covers and they are run through an active 18 volt Glockenklang 3-band eq. system with an active/passive switch. There are also midrange frequency and series/parallel pickup switches for lot's of tone variety.
