Details

An unnamed person in my household recently imposed a "no new bass comes in unless an existing one exits" rule. While I don't find this rule completely just, I agreed. As luck would have it, a new bass appeared, so one must depart.

I'm down to basses I don't want to see go, but this is the one: a nice G&L SB-1. Sparkly metallic red finish.

I considered selling my 1983 SB-1, and I prefer the sound of this later SB-1 to the 1983 model, but the the 1983 version has that early G&L cachet. Also, I figure I can pick up another of the later model (at a time to be determined.)

This instrument looks and sounds terrific. Produces a satisfying thud with flat wounds. One shallow 1/3 inch indentation in the middle of the neck between fret 4 and 5. The control knobs have started flaking slightly, but I assume they could be replaced. The bridge saddles have slight oxidation. Otherwise, sweet.
  • 1 11/16 nut
  • 21 frets
  • 8.1 lbs.

Serial number: B031391 (Not sure of the year. Perhaps someone can help.)

Comes with a generic gig bag.

Shipping a flat $25.00 via FedEx, fully insured. Continental U.S. only. If you want a shipping quote elsewhere, let me know.
