Great Carvin BX500 amp. I have two amps with a 12AX7 tube preamp and find I'm more partial to the Genz-Benz Neo-Pak than the Carvin BX500. The BX500 does clean tones really well but I also have a Markbass LMIII that covers that territory so the BX500 is now for sale. The great option with the BX500 is that it runs 500W at 4 ohms and 2 ohms. But, I can take the DI pre or post out of the LMIII or NeoPak into my Crown power amp to cover the 2 ohm territory if needed. So, as nice as it was to have the BX500, it's time to thin the heard.
