I have an EMG BTS control prewired bass and treble preamp that was removed from my Spector bass. It will work with either active or passive pickups. The high frequency is able to be customized via the 2 dip switches on the back (see the document at this link for more information http://www.emgpickups.com/media/productfile/b/t/bts_control_0230-0207re.pdf).
