Build process, then a Pro-setup:
Body came to me with a bad finish that I sanded off. The neck was delivered as new.

Had a square Jack plate, I replaced it with a good, football type, thus leaving a few very small holes.

Hey, what is goncalo Alves? I love a very dense neck like bubinga or wenge

It's a high density hardwood.
"Very dense smooth texture with a waxy, fast feel. Color is tan with darker chocolate stripes. With an articulate, clean, warm tone, Goncalo gets rave reviews for its overall well balanced tone and great looks. Primarily used as a neck wood, it mates well with Pau Ferro or Ebony fingerboards."

Thanks for that info. Can you comment on the action and playability? I like a very flat neck with pretty low action and little fret buzz. Also, I am not as familiar with EMG electronics. Is this just Vol/Blend/Tone? If a preamp is added does it have to be EMG or could it be Aguilar or another company?

Also, with a heavy neck wood and alder body, how is the balance. Neck dive?

No problem. I like my action as low as possible w/very, very little fret buzz for grit. The neck is amazing and better quality than most necks on basses worth 3 times this price.
The fret-to-string distance at 12th fret is:
B- 1.3mm
E- 1.2mm
A- 1.1mm
D- 1.0mm
G- 1.0mm
Right now it's wearing a new set of Dunlop Nickel Wound Mediums. I wanted to try em and they're ok. I prefer Warwick Black Label for better string action w/o buzz.

No neck dive, (Hipshot ultra-lights!), and it balances quite evenly, as it's not Body-heavy either.
Nice, flat neck but not as flat as an Ibanez SR series Prestige-5 or my Carvin Icon-5. Much flatter than Fender/Musicman.

Controls are: Vol/Vol/Tone. I LOVE the way an Aguilar OBP-2 or 3 sound with EMG's and I'm not alone in this, :) You can't go wrong with that combo, guaranteed! Easy install.
Here are some more pics. Control cavity, shielded and clean. Pic of back of neck also.

Replied. TY.

FYI for anyone, Frets are: #6130 .106" X .036" Low and wide. "Medium Jumbo".
This neck is quite special and originally cost approx $405 without the Hipshot Tuners.
