This is a 4-string Dave Pushic custom bass featuring a beautiful single cutaway design with a gorgeous buckeye burl top. I tried to shoot photos in different lighting, but the images don't do justice to the beauty of this piece of wood. Most basses you see with a buckeye top are either dark brown or entirely yellow. This piece is a nice combination of both, which is difficult to find.

The body is walnut (under the buckeye top - you can't make the entire body out of buckeye because the wood is too soft), and the neck is maple. This combination of woods along with the single cutaway design makes for a well-balanced bass. It doesn't strain the neck, and it doesn't tilt one way or the other (like my Warwick did). The sustain is awesome as well.

The fingerboard is birdseye maple, which makes for a punchy attack. The neck is also very easy to maneuver because of Dave's ergonomic design. (Read more about the shape of the neck here.) The Bartolini pickups also give it a very modern sound. There really isn't anything you can't do with the options in the coil tap/selection switches (one 3-way toggle for each pickup) combined with the 3-band EQ.

The bass is clean and flawless except for just a couple very minor belt scratches on the back (shown in the images). I am the original owner, and I have only gigged with this bass a couple of times. I bought it prior to having kids (you see where this is going). Because I play mostly fretless now, I can't justify keeping it around with so many other things to pay for. You will notice from Dave's website that a basic 4-string is $900 without add-ons. This bass cost $1,300 when I bought it 10 years ago - it would cost even more to build today.

The bass ships in the same gig bag that was sent to me. It's fraying a bit at the seams (see photos), but it's a free case. It also comes with strap locks and a padded leather strap (bonus!). Let me know if you have any questions.

Below are the specs I received from Dave when ordering. He has indicated "add-on" costs that are included in the cost of my listing.
