I'm pretty sure they're roundwound (has always been my assumption), but the package is totally sealed and I don't want to open to check. I searched around on the web and there are several references to them being roundwound and the shortscale version of 7250's. Hope that helps.

Just FYI - They are rounds, and I found this info -

"The Fender Steel Super 4250 strings are custom made for a 28.59 inch scale and are factory made for Fender’s P Bass Jr.
The 5250s are custom for a 30 inch scale and provide great tone and enhanced sustain for smaller scaled bass guitars."

Sounds like they would be great for an Ibanez Mikro.
