Description: Fender Custom Shop Custom Classic Jazz Bass - 7/10 condition

This is my introduction to Fender Custom Shop basses - as far as I can tell, it is indeed better than the Deluxes and what not that I've owned. Now, of course, this one is very obviously a workhorse in player's condition. If you ask me, that adds a certain charm to it, and is also rather inviting in the sense that you can dig in and not worry about leaving a few (or a lot of) love marks on it. Note: the pictures are outdated and there's a few more love marks on it now, if I'm not mistaken. Wonderful neck on this thing, and nails the classic Jazz/Funk tone that I grew up on (in fairness, every bass will forever be compared to the '72 Jazz my dad played while I was growing up).

Modifications: None

Accessories: Hardshell case

Price: $1600 - looking for trades, cash, or both

Location: Mt. Pleasant, PA

International OK?: Yes

Contact: PM or e-mail: [email protected]

References: I have more references than anybody would ever need, and have built one of the very best reputations over the years. A lot from sevenstring.org, rig talk, the gear page, talk bass, harmony central, jemsite, etc.

The Custom Shops are nice I owned a 59 RI P bass in shoreline gold with the gold pick guard and they do sound better then the AM Vintage series or the older ones from 82 and up. I owned the most recent P bass deluxe when it came out in 09 or 2010 and I do not like the new ones. The deluxe basses built from the early or mid 90's to 08 are really good basses. The day I bought my 2000 i sat down I played an original 75 Fender p bass Gibson Thunderbird which was new vintage series 74 Jazz bass and a 2000 Fender deluxe Jazz bass that was fretless and i bought the Fender Deluxe p bass on the spot. It had a better sound feel playabilty then all the ones mentioned but the jazz deluxe was a very close 2nd and i would have bought it because I wanted a fretless overall it was in nice shape but it had a couple dings and some rash the p bass was mint so I had to buy that one . I could not get over the condition of it the first series of deludes are really good basses and i own an elite II and they are unbelievable the Elite basses are very heavy the 2000 is very light in weight

Wide open to ideas, honestly. I would be more open to guitars, but only by a small margin. I'm the sort of guy that doesn't know he wants something until it's sitting in front of him.
