Ever wanted to try that famous 9V preamp circuit in your Spector bass, but you were put off by the high price tag and limited availability? Korean and Czech clones of the circuit can be had on the used market, but they require you to rout out the control cavity of your prized possession. Heck, even the real deal requires that you ream out the pot holes in order to get it to fit.
On top of that, you are stuck with the resistance values of the volume and/or blend controls that were installed in the circuit board when the preamp was manufactured. This is because finding adequately sized replacements of different resistance values is pretty much impossible. This can be a real pain if you ever wanted to swap the pickups in your bass at some later date - particularly if you want to make the switch from active to passive or vice-versa.
Oh and one more thing...standard sized control knobs don't fit on the shafts of the Korean or Czech clones either...time to spend more $$$....
The mini-Duff clone preamp was designed to address all of the issues cited above - and more.
It's just like the full-sized Duff-clone, except it is installed using the existing volume and/or blend pots in your bass and is compatible with active or passive pickups. You can choose how to configure it using standard off-the-shelf potentiometers which are generally cheap and readily available. Since it is also built using standard sized potentiometers, the push on knobs that came with your bass will fit just fine.
Unlike the full-sized Duff-clone, it will fit a wider range of basses that have control cavities smaller than the Euro model basses. The pictures below go in to more detail regarding the measurements so you can check to see if it will fit in your bass.
Price is $85 USD. Price includes shipping to the continental USA and Canada.
I will also ship overseas if the buyer is willing to cover the extra shipping charges.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.
