From what I understand the Squier Classic Vibe series bass bodies are made of basswood. How durable do you find the finish on this bass to be? Do you feel you need to be gentle with it due to the soft wood body?

It's a solid wood body covered with a hard finish...hit it hard and it will ding, dent, and chip just like every other bass guitar out there! Basswood is great, you won't notice any durability difference between this or another alder Fender. It's not balsa for crying out loud...BEAUTIFUL BASS BUMP!:)

Sonic blue is where it's at! Comes with an ashtray already. Just add pickup cover and your ready for classic rock! Looks great with a mint green pickguard too! And no I have no affiliation with the seller, I just have the same bass and looks and plays incredible!

I need to unwatch this thread its killing me...

Lol, I know right. It is an awesome bass and gives the Fenders a run for their money. I just don't use it much since it is the backup P-bass for my Lakland Bob Glaub and my current bass gigs are all Jazz bass stuff. Crossing over to do a guitar gig and have to make room for the new Reverend Charger 290 LE.

Can't say enough about this bass. Great deal! With flats it is a tone monster. Best deal out there right now. Someone buy it. I would but already have one.

Oh fer cryin out loud! Can you say no-brainer? I had one, foolishly sold it under wifely pressure, fortunately bought another. This is the best bass per dollar that is known to humankind. And sonic blue is the ticket! GLWTS!!
