im selling my customized sr500 , it has a nice hard transparent black conversion varnish finish, emg 35hz humbucking pickups, a reworked full contact shim in the neck pocket, super smooth satin finish on the neck, matching trans black headstock. the emg 35 size pickups are shorter witch for me gives a more comfortable thumb rest than the stock pickups provided, to make the new pickups fit the ends of the old pickup routs wer filled with African ironwood and rerouted, I also added about 3/16 inch clearance under the D,G strings around the neck heal and also sanded the slope of the heal to match to allow for ease of diging under the strings, in stock form my knuckles and nails always hit and dug in to the body, now it's a much more comfortable bass to play. the whole body has been slightly reshaped to smooth and round over some of the sharper edges like along the top and bottom of the horns with the goal of making it feel more like my old 80's era made in japan sr800, the one flaw in the paint is right near the jack one in the jack recess and another smaller nick just out side, I never took the time to fix it but it would not take much, the combination of the new pickups and the improved contact in the neck joint gave a huge improvement in the tone of this bass it has a much deeper thick sound not at all thin sounding like a lot of the sr500 do I believe this is because of the more solid neck joint because even the acoustic volume of the bass increased I think this one may even sound as good as my sr1800

i bought this bass new around 2013 but then started playing my spector full time less than a year later so their is very little fret wear and the preamp functions perfectly. I tried to get pics of the headstock but the flash just makes glare so ill get some in the daylight tomorrow. this kindof shows the added clearance under the D,G string

Would it ship in a hard case or just by itself?

Also, is there anything you would say it sounds more like now?

I don't have a case or bag for this bass. it would ship rapt in bubble wrap and double boxt. to con U.S. only
its hard to say what else it sounds like it is simply deeper, fatter and more punchy more articulate, louder and more full sounding.
im putting this sale on hold for a few days while I decide weather to keep it or not.
