Unfortunately, the time has come, and I'm selling one of my best basses. It's an F Bass BNF6 (fretless six string) neck-through with 18volt Active Preamp... And it is AMAZING! This really is a special axe that is just a joy to play! I just simply am not using it enough for my gigs, and need to invest more into my upright(s). I'm asking for $2500 USD firm (plus shipping if necessary, or pick up from Metro Detroit). New, this bass goes for somewhere in the range of $4750 (I bought it used), and I've seen similar used ones for upwards of $3000. UPDATE: I actually checked on the F Bass custom bass builder on their website. This bass new would cost $6778!! Not $4750!!! The neck-through option alone added $1500 to the original build.

-- Weighs in at only 9.3 lbs
-- 34 1/2" scale
-- 2 plus octave fingerboard
-- Upper range fret markers
-- matching pickup covers of the super deep green color
... and it sounds absolutely fantastic down to the low B.

It has a shimmering quality and delicious growl to the whole range of the instrument, and will make the right player very happy. The set up is so low and smooth, it's like playing butter! And as you can see from the photos, the shielding is flawless. The finish has a couple minor flaw that were there when I bought it. I will include a softside padded case that can hold 2 long scale basses (or smaller) with the sale for free.

I can accept PayPal, Credit Card, Checks and obviously cash if you can get it to me.

Beautiful bass. What year is it? I'm unfamiliar with an 18v fbass preamp and why it would have the passive only controls. Can you elaborate on that? Thank you

Hi Rich,
Unfortunately, I can't. I bought the instrument second hand, so I wasn't told what the original plan behind it was. I know it sounds great, but the signal output is less "loud" than my other active basses, which are also 18volt. That said, I also know these things are not universal in that X volts equals Y output volume. I also had a Warwick 9volt at one point that was one of the hottest sounding output signals I've ever seen.
